Best Parent Reviews: Trusted Reviews and Toddler Content

Today we are going to review the 3 piece pop-up ball pit. There are many different varieties on Amazon and other retailers with a wide variety of themes from space to dinosaurs to mermaids. There are even Disney Princess versions of this ball pit. The primary positives are that it’s a ball pit (always fun!) and can be stored and moved easily. The downside is that it struggles to keep balls contained and the issue of storing the balls remains. We think there are better options out there. Pass on the 3 piece ball pit.

The GeerWest 3PC Kids Ball Pits set brings a triple dose of excitement to playtime. The play tent serves as a cozy hideaway, the tunnel adds an element of adventure, and the 3-piece ball pit offers a vibrant space for toddlers to explore. The versatile design allows for various configurations, encouraging creative play and fostering a sense of wonder.

It’s important to note that in most cases – these sets do not include the ball pit balls! Check out our ball pit filling guide to see how many you need and choose between crush-proof or non-crush balls

3 Piece Ball Pit in action with no balls

Outside of the value of being a ball pit – one of the most fun toys for kids – the next best attribute of the 3 Piece Kids Ball Pits is its collapsible design. The play tent, tunnel, and ball pit effortlessly fold down, making storage and transport a breeze. This collapsibility is a game-changer for parents seeking a playhouse that can be easily stowed away when not in use or transported for on-the-go fun. We collapse ours and stuff it behind the couch when not in use.

The drawback here is that even when you collapse the ball pit, you will have to figure out how to store the balls. We struggled to find an aesthetically pleasing way to store our ball pit balls (the trash bag didn’t look good), so we ended up keeping it out most of the time.

Indoor and Outdoor Flexibility: Play Anywhere, Anytime

Whether it’s a rainy day indoors or a sunny afternoon in the backyard, the 3PC Kids Ball Pit adapts seamlessly to various environments. The durable construction allows for safe and enjoyable play both indoors and outdoors, providing a versatile solution for different playtime scenarios.

Durability is a key factor in any kids’ play equipment, and the 3PC Kids Ball Pits don’t disappoint. The material and reinforced seams ensure that the play tent, tunnel, and ball pit withstand the exuberance of toddlers at play, promising longevity and value for money. Generally it seems like rather than tearing or ripping, this baby ball pit just collapses. Our ball pit has seen a fair amount of roughhousing and is no worse for wear. We have used our ball pit cleaning tips – but nothing major.

The biggest drawback for me with this ball pit is its inability to contain the balls. Especially if you have a lot of ball pit balls (which I recommend) and a lot of excited kids – the balls are going to go everywhere. By nature of having 3 distinct pieces that easily separate, balls go through those openings at will. And in the main ball pit area, the walls are not sturdy, which can lead to ball avalanches.

Naturally all ball pits lead to a fair amount of ball cleanup – but these collapsible pits lead to even more.

\While these three-piece ball pits are everywhere. sturdy and affordable, we have a personal preference for memory foam ball pits as we didn’t have a good storage space to store all the ball pit balls when not in use and we found that our ball pit was generally getting playtime a few times a week. Since we had it out all the time – we found the value of the memory foam ball pit more aesthetically pleasing plus there was marginally less ball cleanup.

If you have a good way to store the balls – the setup and storage aspect is amazing. Less than a minute and you can have your space station, ocean world or Jungle Adventure ready to go. Really cannot be beat in this category.

The 3 Piece Ball pits on Amazon are generally under $50 on Amazon. There are five-piece versions as well which aren’t incrementally that much more, but take up more space. Assuming space is a constraint – we don’t see that much incremental value to the five pieces. The collapsible ball pits are generally comparable in price to the memory foam pits.

The 3PC Kids Ball Pits for Toddlers is going to create a lot of joy for any purchaser. If you are space-constrained and have a good plan for storing it and the ball pit balls – we recommend it. If you are going to have the ball pit permanently set up, we recommend you consider the memory foam alternatives.
